Hi there! :) I'm back with another blue manicure. Well, blue and silver.
You know how girls tend to say that they do their make-up and nails just because they enjoy it personally? That it has nothing to do with getting attention from guys, looking attractive to the opposite sex etc.?
While I can't say for facial make-up, I do think it's very much the case for nail polish and nail design. For a lot of people it's tacky, over-the-top and downright ugly. So the reason for me to do my nails is me and just me. I enjoy it, I love being creative on my nails and the others can suck it. ;)
This time I tried a new technique using tape to do the French design. The idea came from Chloe's blog: CLICK! She is the master when it comes to manis with tape. See also on her tutorials page for instructions.
I had hoped that the contrast between the two blue polishes would stand out a bit more, but well, it's still ok the way it is. Also, in real life it's more on the turquoise/green side, seems that my camera can't capture that. Also, there is holographic glitter on the silver nail actually.
Here's what I used:
- P2 Base + Care Coat
- Essence Pool Party (lighter blue with glass flecks)
- Essence Choose me (French tips)
- Manhattan Aluminiums 319 (metallic polishes were quite hip in the beginning 2000s)
- Claire's Holographic Glitter polish
- Manhattan Pro Shine Topcoat
- Scotch tape
Next time I'm going to try a colour theme which is completely new to me: taupe. ("tone it down" doesn't exist in my vocabulary when it comes to nails...) It's going to be quite a challenge to turn this non-colour into something thrilling...
Stay tuned for the next manicure!
It looks very nice.
